DONATE TO OIA GIVES™
Thank you for taking the time to give a donation. We could not do any of this without your support
We started OIA Gives™ as a way of helping people less fortunate than ourselves. We achieve this by honing in on our resources and channeling it to areas where we feel we can make the most impact.
One of such areas includes the provision of small, multi-year grants to pay for the school fees and upkeep of the children we support.
Currently, in our scheme, we have 7 children.
All our funds come from donations received by people like yourself as well as family and friends, and friends of friends. With the help of donations we first aim to sponsor a child, then another and then another.
We focus our resources in guaranteeing the education of 7 less privileged children, as well as providing them with the resources they need to succeed in school, from tuition, to counselling as well as mentoring.
So as the proverbial saying goes “Give a man a fish and he would be hungry tomorrow, however if you teach him how to fish he would never be in need”. We set up funds that go towards the long-term education of Our children; thus raising funds to put them through from Primary / Secondary school right through to the completion of their Universities.
So our results are quantifiable by how many student we help through the educational system and as a result we are in the long-term ensuring these individuals become assets to their society even though they might have been dealt a poor hand.
At O.I.A Gives™, we are quite simply put, ordinary people doing what is right. All overheads are covered solely by ourselves meaning that 100% of all donations received go directly to initiatives we create or support.
The philosophy is captured in an old African saying that says “A child is a child of EVERYONE”. Hence in our fund raising efforts such as baking cakes for sale which in turn was used in the purchase of pants, clothes and sanitary pads for young women at the Salvation Army in Nigeria who cater to disabled youths.
Our 2 key areas of focus are:
1) In the provision of multi-year grants to aid sponsoring the education of children and youths in Africa. We accomplish this solely through donations we get either through our website, GoFund me campaigns, JustGiving campaigns, or by contacting us. We endeavour to be transparent and share videos & details explaining the causes we support.
2) In the provision of care packages such as clothes, sanitary items and food to less than fortunate people. We accomplish this by broadcasting within our family and friend’s network for clothes donations as well as books and any important item that can be reused. You see, it is easy to forget that when people are less than fortunate, clothing becomes a luxury and not a necessity
